Maureen O’Brien has been a psychotherapist in the Albany area since 1986 and has been in private practice for most of that time. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from The College of St. Rose and a Masters of Social Work from the University at Albany, School of Social Welfare. Maureen is licensed (LCSW-R) in the state of New York. She has spent most of her career working with adults seeking psychotherapy services for a variety of concerns and also has significant experience providing help for survivors of trauma (post-traumatic stress and dissociative disorders). She is sensitive to the concerns of the GLBT community.

Maureen O’Brien is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW). She has been a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
